The Hockey Bar: Puck drops on Beijing’s newest watering hole

hockey bar beijing table top game

The Hockey Bar opened Friday night with a party that — based on talks with several inside sources — saw patrons guzzle beer like water, at least one person receive a “game misconduct” (a.k.a. be sent home) and the brand spanking new carpet get soiled (let’s I hope it wasn’t the result of someone doing for hockey what Gary Lineker did for football) Sounds like your average Sudbury Saturday night.

Anyway, I stopped by the next day, had a drink and took a few photos. The Hockey Bar is pretty much an extension of The Irish Volunteer, with a shared kitchen and a passage and counter between the two, though it does have its own toilet, hopefully to be referred to as The Moose Head.
