Seafood restaurant Starfish has added two lunch specials. The “express” rmb58 set gets you a small soup, salad, fruit and a main, while the “chef’s” rmb118 set gets you an appetizer, main and dessert, with a choice of three for each. Available Tuesday to Sunday, 11:30 AM to 2 PM.
Also of note, Starfish will start a monthly oyster club. The first meet is set for February 5 and focused on Yaquina Bay bivalves. Attendees get three oysters and three wines. Starfish’s Alisha Bailey says she will explain the oysters — how they grow, their habitat, different tastes, etc — while Campbell Thompson of Wine Republic will talk about the bottles.
There is only space for eight so book soon. And don’t worry if you know little about oysters, says Bailey. “No need to be an oyster fiend or a wine snob to join — we just want people to eat yummy oysters, drink delicious wine, and learn a little bit about both while doing so.”
4corners will mark its first year with a party this Friday from 10 PM. Expect a “special menu” from Jun Trinh, plus live music, DJs, drinks deals and cake. Also, 4corners now has Buffalo milk for those who want something different in their tea, coffee or milkshake.
Refresh! Cafe — in China View, just below Hooters, which remains under renovations — is gutted. But look for a new place — Cava Coffee — to soon open in that same complex. The sign was going up yesterday.
