4 AM eats in Sanlitun: Two Guys and a Pie

Just one of those, “Wow, I’ve been in China a long time” moments when I looked at some meat pies and thought, “Wow, those look like moon cakes“. It happened at the recently opened Two Guys and Pie shop, just across from Heaven Supermarket and nearby Nearby the Tree and The Loop, and in the highly unlikely chance anyone is thinking of buying a certain blogger moon cakes, please consider these pies instead.

A few pertinent details about Two Guys and a Pie:

  • The place is open to 4 AM on Friday and Saturday nights. Admittedly, this area doesn’t have the best reputation for safety, but new spots like this and The Loop — with hopefully more to come– are changing that. Full hours: Monday, closed; Tuesday to Thursday, 5 PM to 11 PM; Friday to Saturday, noon to 4 AM; Sunday, noon to 11 PM.
  • There are three kinds of pies — beef brisket and chicken, honey soy chicken, and garden vegetable – at rmb25 each.
  • There are three toppings — mashed sweet potato, potato, and gravy — at rmb5 each.
  • And there is an assortment of beverages including Aussie beer Crown at rmb25.

I already had lunch plans when I passed by today but will be back soon to try the moon cakes meat pies.
