Yo ho ho and a bottle of baijiu?

Cu Ju is marking the tenth annual “Talk Like a Pirate Day” tonight by offering its 60+ rums at half-priceĀ  — Zacapa 23 at rmb35, Tahiti Dark at rmb25 and much more. Drink enough and you’ll be able to celebrate “Feel Like You’ve Been Keelhauled Day” tomorrow. The rum pours start from 6 PM and Badr Benjelloun says it will also be a chance to try the Merguez sandwiches to soon join the menu.

Home Plate BBQ will holds it end of summer party on September 22 with food specials, six beers from Slow Boat and the antics of Seth Grossman, who said the party “will be off da hook“. Actually, he instant messaged that, but he did use those words — “off da hook”. The party goes from 2 PM to 10 PM.

And looking way ahead, Simon Amos at Beijing Hilton says this year Christmas train and Christmas tree lights will be powered solely by solar energy. Amos is working with a company called U-Tron on this and says the train launch will be on December 1. He also says that the Hilton will hold a dinner on November 3 with Jane Goodall to support the charity Roots and Shoots. More details here.
