(Root) Beers for Books: Sodas, singalongs, kid-sized meals at this Sunday’s Beers for Books

This Sunday’s Beers for Books event, to support The Library Project and its mission to fund libraries in needy schools, orphanages and community centers around China, is not only ideal for those who want to hoist a few pints of Vedett in the name of charity but also for those who would prefer a glass of bubbly or, in the case of the younger crowd, a nice chilled can of root beer. Those root beers will be sold at rmb15 per can, with all proceeds going to The Library Project.

Even better for the younger crowd, the afternoon lineup will include kid-sized meals, book-themed movies and a children’s singalong led by Ian Burns of The Beijing Beatles — something tells me he will teach the words to The Yellow Submarine and save Paperback Writer for the band’s sets later that night.
