As noted here and here, the Beers for Books event from noon to midnight on Sunday at Brussels will include beer-themed food, beer-themed movies and TV shows, beer-themed events like boat races, draws for beer, the beer-drinking Beijing Beatles, and more. That is a lot of beer and some people have wondered if there are any other options.
In fact, there is a “Bubbly for Books” option, with five kinds of sparkling wine from California producer Weibel, which is handled in our fair city by Frank Yglesias at California Grapes International. The options include regular sparkling wine or bubbly flavored with raspberry, peach, almond or pomegranate. A glass will go for rmb30, with rmb15 going to the Library Project.
