Fourth of July in Beijing: Independence Day at Lush, Nola, Q-Mex, Kro’s Nest, Union & Eudora Station

Lots of posts on the blog about Canada Grade-Eh Week so here is one for the United States, which is on the verge of celebrating its Independence Day. Some upcoming events about Beijing:

July 4

Expect this Haidian watering hole to have a pub quiz, with a USA focus, followed by live music. The food and drinks deals, which go all day and night, include rmb10 PBR tall boys, rmb30 Lush Burgers (original, chicken, teriyaki or tofu) and rmb40 tequila trays with six shots, plus Red, White, and Blue jello shots. Josh Lolly says entry if free, but if the place gets packed, they might direct people to nearby Pyro for beer pong, pizza and rmb10 PBR.

NOLA

A special session of the all-you-can-eat crawfish event, normally held Sundays, is slated for Wednesday, says Brandon Trowbridge. Stuff your face for rmb130 from 6 PM t0 9 PM while washing it all down with two-for-one PBR. The more sophisticated can sample from among NOLA’s American craft beers or perhaps a Bourbon or two.

Q-MEX

This Sanlitun South newcomer will hold a “Fourth of July Mexican BBQ” from 5 PM, with a menu that ranges from ribs to “Bandera” Popsicles in red, white and blue. The party starts at 5 PM.

KRO’S NEST

UNION BAR & GRILLE

Despite the kitchen getting a complete overhaul, Union will doing happy hour from 4 PM to close, which covers everything from Brooklyn Lager to Jim Beam to Mondavi Zinfandel to Long Island Iced Tea. The menu consists of sandwich and salad options, but includes some American-inspired ones, including the Southwest BBQ Chicken Salad and the Cajun Chicken and Avocado Wrap, all at 10 percent off.

The American Chamber of Commerce will hold a party at Eudora Station from 5 PM to 8 PM, with all-you-can-eat American food, plus the band Overdrive. Entry is rmb300 for members and rmb450 for nonmembers. Click here for details.
