Look for it to be a summer of wine in the Sanlitun and Workers Stadium area, with bars and shops from Everwines, Sparkle Roll, California Grapes International and The Loop among those on the way. In Sanlitun South, 1949: The Hidden City reports that Veloce has now opened and looks to combine a panini shop and wine bar. Or, as the press release puts it, a “fast, traditional eatery & modern, intelligent wine bar.”
Meanwhile, on the corner near Nanjie, Kro’s Nest, Salsa Caribe and D Lounge, Ole is converting its first floor into a wine lounge. Not surprisingly, the menu will focus on Spanish options, and particularly on the range available from producer Parxet. All in all, Ole plans to stock about 50 wines and to serve food via its operations on the second and third floors, which remain open during renovations downstairs. The place aims to reopen that first floor in the next couple of weeks.
