Pink boots a fashion faux pas in an otherwise flawless act? You be the judge.
My only car accident in this city happened an hour before I judged a pole-dancing contest at bar Zeta in the Hilton Beijing. Coincidence? Maybe, but I will probably walk to the hotel this Saturday night for its fourth such event. If this one is anything like the last, expect the performers to range from beginners to those who live and breathe polished stainless steel. The hotel says the contest, done with dance school Love Show Studio, will feature nine competitors, with the judges picking the Pole Dancing Queen and patrons voting for Miss Pole-pular. Tickets are rmb150 at the door, or rmb99 ahead of time, and include one drink.
For my take on being a judge and for photos from the 2009 contest, see here.
