CD Blues Cafe hosted its last show last night. I rolled in about 2:30 AM with my buddy Ping, after we drank our fill of La Chouffe at Eje Bar, and with a couple of Beijing Beatles we saw wandering the streets of the Gulou area. We found the place still packed, with a free jam in progress and that continued until after 4 AM. The visit reminded me of my early days in Beijing, when the place went by the name CD Jazz Cafe and I did this Q&A with one of the regular musicians. Anyway, the owner told me he is searching for a new location, possibly in Sanlitun, and hopes to soon be back in action.
