St. Patrick’s Day parties in Beijing: Guinness draft going cheap…

Update: A few more items to add…

  • Free Irish stew (while it lasts) and, for the budget-minded, RMB10 Tsingdao at The Irish Volunteer
  • RMB50 Guinness all day, plus a quiz tonight, at Frank’s Place
  • Green beer at Luga’s Villa
  • A buy a burger at RMB68, get a Guinness for free deal at All-Star
  • Free-flow Bailey’s for women who wear green to Bling
  • And the cheapest happy hour draft Guinness in Beijing: RMB25, 4-8 PM, at Union Bar & Grille

The theme of St. Patrick’s Day this year seems to be who can provide Guinness draft the cheapest. Here is the info I have so far for next Wednesday, March 17, including details on a near full week of debauchery planned at Paddy O’Shea’s. Will update as I get more info…

Molly Malone’s: A free pint of Guinness (one per customer) from 8 to 10 PM, a free Irish Flag drink (one per customer), 10 PM to midnight. Music by Sunflower from 8 PM, and an Irish dancing performance. (Also, 20 percent off food and drink, excluding set menus and bottles, March 15 to March 21.)

The Den: Pints of Guinness draft at RMB30; bottles of Baileys or Jameson at RMB200.

Danger Doyle’s: Two Carlsberg draft or one Guinness draft for RMB31.7, 11 AM to 8 PM; Guinness draft; two-for-one house spirits, Bailey’s, or Jameson; six Baby Guinness or Irish Flag shots for RMB31.7 from 8 PM.

Paddy O’Shea’s: Someting going on pretty much every day right through to next Wednesday:

Friday: Irish dancing performance

Saturday: Pre- and post-Irish Ball parties

Sunday:  The Few Good Men band from Ireland, from 7:30 PM

Monday: The Ceoltas Dancers, at 9:30 PM

Tuesday: Open mic night

Wednesday: Doyle’s Paddy’s takes over Kamat’s restaurant on the top floor for this night; start early at the happy hour that goes to 8 PM.
