Beer break: Danger Doyle’s brings prices back to safer zone

Danger Doyle’s more than doubled many of its beer prices a few months ago and, not surprisingly, lost many of its customers. A bottle of VB, for example, suddenly cost RMB65 instead of the original RMB30. This despite VB being available for RMB25 just down  the street at The Den.

Since then, DD has hired a new general managerDaniel Khoo, previously at Face Bar — and there has been some relief with the beer prices.  While VB — and other beers such as James Boag’s and Cascade — remain at RMB65, all bottled beer is two-for-one, all day, every day, during March. Draft Guinness is now priced more competitively, at RMB55 per pint, and there are various discounts on mixed drinks.

DD’s is also offering a set lunch. Salad, soup, dessert, coffee or soda, and choice of fish and chips or bangers and mash for RMB48. There is also an RMB88 dinner special as well as several new pizzas on offer.
