New menu at The Village: Bye bye pizza, hello pepper steak?
Norwegian pizza joint Peppe’s couldn’t cut it on the third floor of Sanlitun Village — note: I often wonder if La Pizza might have done better? — and it looks like the next act will be a steak house backed by U.S. company Simplot. The third floor has been a pleasant surprise, not only in terms of providing some good food options, te spots ranging from Union Bar & Grill to Ganges to Herbal Cafe to Oriental Kitchen to Blue Frog, but also in drawing some of the city’s punters – RMB25 for draft Guinness at Union surely helps. In any case, look for the as-yet-to-be-named steak house to open in May, according to a company rep.
