RMB800,000: The most expensive Rickshaw ride in Beijing
Yeah, I’m talking about the bar and restaurant–not the multi-wheeled vehicle–known as The Rickshaw. If you want to experience a ride in the food and beverage industry at this former Sanlitun South space, the rent alone will be about RMB800,000 per year, according to several people who say they have been in talks with the landlord. A bigger concern, they say, is that there are only about 18 months left on the sub-lease, which means a substantial amount of risk given the amount of time and money it would take to outfit the place. Then again, whoever takes it on will have proximity to the new Sanlitun Soho across the street… and the public toilets downstairs.

This is so common in China. It seems landlords always think short term to making money. Jack up the rent, then stay empty for months. If they offered a reasonable rate it (the establishment) it would be fair and a win win situation without the high risk for those wanting to start a business.
800.000 for 12 month is 66.666 per month. That is not super expensive comparing to places with less reputation at Tongly studio going for +80.000 monthly. Across from it, Sanlitun Village, bars/clubs go for 200.000/month…….
