RMB800,000: The most expensive Rickshaw ride in Beijing

Yeah, I’m talking about the bar and restaurant–not the multi-wheeled vehicle–known as The Rickshaw. If you want to experience a ride in the food and beverage industry at this former Sanlitun South space, the rent alone will be about RMB800,000 per year, according to several people who say they have been in talks with the landlord. A bigger concern, they say, is that there are only about 18 months left on the sub-lease, which means a substantial amount of risk given the amount of time and money it would take to outfit the place. Then again, whoever takes it on will have proximity to the new Sanlitun Soho across the street… and the public toilets downstairs.

Full deck: Is Blue Frog’s the first to open?

The temperature rose above zero for most of the past week and perhaps that is what inspired Blue Frog to be the first – as far as I know — to re-open its deck. Looking forward to enjoying a few burgers and beers here when the weather warms up a bit more.
