UPDATE: Here are a few more Christmas options about town…

Nola (map) has a three-course Christmas menu, available until the New Year: white bean, ham, and shrimp soup or beet, pear, and blue cheese salad; prime rib, cured salmon, or roasted duck, and chocolate beignets or ginger bread pudding (RMB215).

Maison Boulud (map) has a six-course meal for Christmas lunch and dinner – includes foie gras, flounder, rib-eye steak, log cake, and more (RMB888, plus 5 percent service charge).

SALT (map) has Christmas brunch and dinner. A variety of options available, including with free flow bubbly and beer. Items include seafood, pork Napoleon, roast turkey, pumpkin risotto, and chocolate souffle (noon to 4 PM; 6:30 PM on; from RMB178).

Frank’s Place (map) has a three-course set menu – with roast turkey an option – at RMB148 for adults and RMB68 for kids; includes glass of house wine, draft beer, or soft drink.

Lily’s (map) will serve roast turkey or ham with stuffing, cranberry souce, and gravy, choice of soup or salad, and dessert, for RMB99 (RMB59 for children).

Class by Stephanie has a four course meal, with a beef or pheasant option, and a glass of sparkling wine  (RMB318; contact info: 5825-6778, classbystephanie@gmail.com).

Danger Doyle’s (map) offers Caesar salad, turkey or ham, and chocolate mousse, plus a glass of wine, for RMB188.

Not the band, mind you, but the food. (Now going into hiding to avoid wrath of rabid Fergie fans.)

I checked my email stocking today and found the following Christmas dinners for Beijing. I’ll add more, including some of the hotel deals, over the next week.

Union Bar & Grille (map) will have Christmas dinner on the 24th and 25th, with Caesar salad, pumpkin soup, choice of barbecued chicken or honey-glazed ham with black-eyed peas, sweet potato, stuffing, and gravy, and apple pie for RMB220.

Both the Sanlitun (map) and Shunyi (map) branches of Blue Frog have Christmas dinners on the 24th and 25th. For RMB298, you get mushroom soup, a mixed leaf salad, choice of roast turkey and fixings or pepper sirloin steak, pumpkin cheesecake, choice of coffee, tea, and soft drink, and a glass of wine (it can be exchanged for an extra coffee, tea, or soft drink).

L’Isola (map) offers an eight-course tasting menu and a glass of Prosecco on Christmas Day for RMB388.

Hard Rock Cafe (map) will host Santa Rock Christmas on the 24th, with a buffet dinner and free flow house pours. The flyer states, “RMB 980 Nett or RMB 880 Nett / Person” – not sure what the difference in prices means. To RSVP, call 6590-6688, extension 2571.

Paddy O’Shea’s (map) has a three-course turkey dinner, on the 24th and 25th, for RMB150 – includes drink. (To ensure a spot, RSVP at 13910580687.)

The Schoolhouse at Mutianyu Great Wall will feature roast goose for its Christmas Eve dinner as well as some Chrismas carolling.
