Sips and bites: Salud II, Muse II, Kro’s IV, Fubar
Kro’s Nest: Look for “Kro” to soon open two new places, including an American diner and a pizza joint in central Beijing. Locations to be soon confirmed.
Stadium Dog / Fubar: Work is coming along on the new venture between ex-Rickshaw / Tun dude Chad Lager and partner Kevin Zhang on this hot dog joint / speakeasy at Workers Stadium. Slated opening is early July.
Muse: Work is also coming along on the second branch of this Vietnamese restaurant – the first is at Chaoyang Park west gate – in the old premises of Cafe de Niro.
Salud: A second branch of this Nanluoguxiang stalwart, known for its earthy atmosphere, friendly staff, and homemade rums, is slated to open across from Tongli.

Too infrequent are my visits to Nanluoguxiang and when I do go, it tends to be at night and involve visiting the same spots – 12sqm, Salud, Reef Bar, and occasionally, just around the corner, Lugar. I recently headed there during daylight hours and brought my camera. Here are a dozen shots of NLGX and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, while we found Amilal open (write-up and photos soon), we found the hot dog place closed. Then again, that gives me an excuse to go back….
