After spending months on renovations, Maggies no sooner re-opened than it was closed, including its famous hot dog stand out front. According to a sign on the door last night:
This bar is closed for five days due to fire control alterations, we are sorry for any inconvenience

17 May – midnight. Maggie’s still closed – still for fire control inspection? What is going on here? Anybody got a clue?
Maggies will be closed untill after the Olympics!! Also The Hard Rock Cafe and other places, where many people from different country’s come together and meet nice girls from China and Mongolia, are still closed.
So…it is beginning to appear that this old standby is gone for good. It is long after the Olympics now (or long enough if it were about the Olympics) and our favorite hotdog stand is still locked up.
Any news anywhere?

Given it has turned from worst-kept secret to being on the mainstream media radar I would be surprised to see it open in that location. My guess is that IF it opens, it will be in a new location, but who knows… for sure, the constant “it’s opening this weekend” claims have died down.
