In the news: some love from China Daily, CRI
The blog is getting some press these days. Today’s China Daily has an article I wrote called, “For local wines, these are the best of the bunch“, and quotes me in another article by Ye Jun, “Cheers to more wine“.
I also did five interviews with Mark “The Dapper Dude” Rybchuk of China Radio International that will air on Thursdays during the next month between 11 AM and noon and between 5 and 7 PM, starting tomorrow. The interviews cover Chinese wine, Whiskey in Beijing, and some venues that will soon open in our fair city. We recorded them at 1949: The Hidden City.
And, yes, I know I sound like a dork.

Don’t worry Boyce… next to Rybchuk, you’ll sound like a legend! ha!
Wait until you hear it.
He jumps right in while I stumble my way through. If we were swimmers, he’s the guy that gets into the pool by going off the board, while I take five minutes, inching myself in, starting with the big toe.
Cheers, Jim
Ah, so you swim like you taste wine – look at the colour of the liquid, sniff, swirl, sip, and it’s only when you have swallowed a mouthful of the fluid in front of you that you realise the awful truth – someone pissed in it.
Congrats, Jim!
@ 8 Songs,
As long as it’s cat’s piss, I guess I can live with it!
Cheers, Boyce
@ Adam,
Thanks!
Cheers, Boyce
In the article you mentioned that “Sino-French Demonstration Vineyard, which makes an intriguing Petit Manseng, distributes to a single hotel.” Which hotel, and is it even in China?
@ Appetite,
Sino-French makes a Petit Manseng but, as far as I know, they don’t distribute it anywhere. They sell as least one of their wines in the Beijing Hilton.
Cheers, Boyce
